Fashion Faves of the Week: CMT Awards & NYC Street Chic

Generally each week I will find a male and female celebrity outfit that I deem as my favorite of the week. This week there was one extra award ceremony, on top of the CFDA Awards (click here to read my post on that). The CMT Awards were held this evening so I wanted to share my favorite red carpet looks of the night-top 3 female and favorite male outfit as well. It was hard to pick just 3 as there were a lot of amazing looks, but here are my faves!

I absolutely adore Jana, from her days on One Tree Hill to now being a sensational country artist. I also absolutely adore this long sheer nude and black laced gown. The lace applique effect is such a hot trend right now and has been for quite some time as this is actually from a 2011 collection. There is also a bit of fringe at the bottom, which I think is just the perfect amount to not distract from the other elements of this dress.

I applaud Carrie for wearing something different and really showing that she can rock any look. I think shorts are very interesting to wear on the red carpet, but this type of event, it really works. Plus, she has great legs so why not show them off! I love the color here in a mint green and I think its always great to show some color. I really like the sheer geometric neckline,

I’m not quite sure why AnnaSophia was at the CMT awards, but nonetheless, she was a breath of fresh air. She also rocked the lace trend in this blush mini with a haltered neckline. All of her accessories and style choices were right on point. She toted a great little black clutch and wore a sparkly pair of open-toed heels. Also choosing to wear her hair in a bun updo was perfection to make this overall elegant and classy look really work.

I have to choose the best dressed guys to so this is really all about Neil & Reid. However, you can’t say that Kimberly doesn’t look great as well as she is wearing an long orange gown with pink-laced cut-outs on the side by Oday Shakar. The guys also looked great in their suits with great choices of the navy blue and shimmery grey dress coats.

The next segment here is on a male and female outfits I find right here in NYC, on the streets. There is no celebrity status. These are just your regular, average, everyday people who really know how to select amazing pieces to create their ensemble.

I didn’t catch this gal’s name as she was strolling through Tribeca. I immediately was captivated by this amazing belt, which really tied this whole outfit together. This was a great spring out fit from the silk white capped sleeve blouse and navy blue skirt. The open toed black slingback heels also were great and probably great to walk the streets of NYC.

Meet Rodrigo! I think he looks great with his khaki pants, white undershirt and tan vest. He looks great from head to toe. Some of his outfit came from Ralph Lauren.

Fashion Finds of the Week: Let’s Look at the Maxi

Its springtime now, but summer is fast approaching. I know if I decide to add anything to my spring/summer wardrobe it will be a new maxi dress. I own a few right now, all solid colors, so I would really be interested in a print of some sort. I wanted to focus this week’s Fashion Find section on shopping around for maxi dresses and what sorts of options are available. So take a look with me on some great places to look, some great styles and all at great prices.

Kohls always has a great selection to choose from. Click here to see all of the options. Below are just a few of my faves:

There are a lot of great options for spring trends, from florals to solid colors to other bold print. There are some that are a bit more on the casual side to others that are a bit dressier. A great range of price options are also available, but mostly under $100.
