Lucio Castro Presents “Ubu Roi”

ubu_roiLucio Castro FW15

Blue/red/black “Chinese Fingers cuff” tee shirt, khaki nylon jacket with leather collar, & grey checkered trousers

Lucio Castro was another menswear presenter for NYMD, held at Industria Superstudio, presented by Cadillac. And his concept for F/W 2015 was Ubu Roi, an hypnotic made for TV movie by Jean-Christophe Averty, airing back in 1965. The film was based on the revolutionary play by Alfred Jarry, considered by some a first sign of modernism.

Lucio Castro FW15

Mac jacket painted by Sadie Laska on muslin, black/charcoal novelty stitch wool turtle neck, & black cotton stretch winter chinos

So why this movie? The designer was captured by the tensions between seriousness and playfulness from the film; it was innovative and primitive. There was also a sense of alluring repetition that is especially relevant now with the extensive use of GIFs & memes. There are a lot of great, unique pieces in this collection. Artist collaborator Sadie Laska worked wonders here, really increasing the level of appeal for these looks.

Lucio Castro FW15

Blue/red/black “Chinese Finger Cuffs” sweatshirt & navy checkered trousers

Castro took the deep red found in the velvet capes of kings, and used it in repetitive patterns on the designer’s Italian-made fabrics. The sweaters here also have signature stitches that are Dadaist and 3D. This collection is still right in line with the designer’s signature aesthetics, still anchored in effortless and masculine “invisible uniform” that they always have strove for.

Lucio Castro FW15

Caramel checkered shirt, purple heather sweatshirt, & grey sweater pants

These looks are wearable works of art. Men donning them would be eye-catching and only in the positive sense of the word. There is a great use of color here, traditional f/w colors of navy blues and burgundies. But it’s also refreshing to see some lighter, airy colors with pops of tropical green and burnt orange.

Lucio Castro FW15

Royal red checkered long sleeve knit, royal red novelty stitch sweater, & royal red checkered pants.

And another great aspect, there is quite a bit to take in, lots of pieces, light layering, with sweaters, outerwear, turtlenecks, and more.

Ernest Alexander’s Wandering Traveler

NYFW is here! One always fun-filled day for me is NYMD, a packed day with lots of designers showcasing some bold, dynamic menswear presentations. NYMD is held at Industria Superstudios, and is presented by Cadillac. One brand I always look forward to seeing is Ernest Alexander. And for F/W 2015, the concept is “A Wandering Traveler.”

Plaid gingham trousers & scarf, waxed jacket, ash leather messenger bag

For F/W 2015, Ernest Alexander celebrates the exploration and discoveries of a curious voyager. And with a great reminding message — it’s the journey itself that truly is the reward! And trust, this collection is very much a reward in and of itself!

Printed work-shirt, dark navy blazer, brown wool topcoat, dark navy trouser, silk necktie, & block print scarf

The inspiration for this collection stemmed from a cabin retreat in upstate NY. The cabin house environment was a huge source of inspiring ideas — sculptured pieces, southwestern photographs, lots of Aztec motifs, rich colors found in both the cabin and the outdoors. The color story here is vital to the collection, giving us lots of deep olives, warm browns, and pops of vibrant reds and blues.

White oxford shirt, ombre peacoat, dark navy trousers, ombre envelope clutch

From the colors and concepts, the perception of a man’s life, conjuring up ideas of travel, what he may have owned or collected, how he dressed, all started to come together. There is a lot of versatility here, the ability to mix and match. The collection offers a lot of separates and special pieces many men would definitely want to incorporate as part of their wardrobe.

White oxford shirt, olive waxed field jacket, dark navy trousers, ombre scarf, black waxed gear bag, & black waxed zip-top tote

Again, the F/W season tells a story about a romantic, wandering traveler interested in the world around him. The introduction of an ombre pattern pays homage to the traditional palette of fall foliage, while the addition of earth tones ground the contrast between crisp whites and rich navies.

Printed white shirt & blue wool cargo pant

These are some great, intriguing pieces, with a clear inspiration here. And each look in the collection goes perfectly with this story. I’m always impressed by Ernest Alexander and am very much eager to see more and more from them every season!

And The 2015 Award Season Marches On…

The Oscars still remain, but in the mix of all the main red carpet Grammys hoopla, there were a few other red carpet events over the past week that are worthy of some Best Dressed nods — BAFTA (British Academy of Film & Television Arts), Grammys performance looks, after party looks, and more! For the Grammys after-party, namely Warner Bros, other partners were Spotify & DeLeon.

Here is my Best Dressed Round-Up list, ENJOY!

Reese Witherspoon

Reese is ravishing in this deep purple Stella McCartney dress, paired perfectly with some elegant Tiffany & Co. jewelry pieces. And with just a peep, she is also matching with dark purple Jimmy Choo heels. (BAFTA)

Laura Haddock

Laura looks ethereal and magical in this ivory Ashi Studio gown, complete with a full ball gown tulle skirt. She is continuing her royal-like treatment with some exquisite diamond De Beers jewelry pieces. Her natural beauty look, soft nude lip, is courtesy of Lancôme UK. And her chic updo, a chignon, is by Chris Williams. (BAFTA)

Elizabeth Banks

While attending the Love & Mercy premiere during the 65th Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany Elizabeth truly donned a work of art with this stunning burgundy embellished Elie Saab Couture dress. She looks radiant from head to toe, including her statement-making Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Giuliana Rancic

Debuting at her 1st Grammy Awards, for pre-coverage on the Red Carpet, Giuliana went with super chic black Steven Khalil gown. I love the details here, the slit, open neckline, sheer detailing on the sleeve — it’s all great!

She coordinated with her look, classic black heels by Gianvito Rossi and lots of diamonds, diggin’ the Jack Vartanian earrings!

Rosamund Pike

Rosamund looks gorgeous in all black, thanks to Roland Mouret with this amazing haltered, understated gown. Keeping with the minimalistic route, she is donning a few diamond pieces from Bulgari. (BAFTA)

Lea Seydoux

Lea looks striking and brimming with sunshine in this canary yellow Prada gown with side cutouts. This is the perfect look for her. This color can be very hard to pull off and she is pulling it off amazingly! (BAFTA)

Natalie Dormer

Such a classic look, but I really loved that Natalie made it her own and spiced things up a bit with these cobalt blue lace gloves. But I really do love this 2-tone navy blue & black Sophia Kah gown, flowing so beautifully with a lace train. Paired with her look, black Casadei heels and Yoko London jewels. (BAFTA)

Holliday Grainger

EE British Academy Film Awards 2015 - Red Carpet Arrivals

Maria Menounos

Maria is the embodiment of sexyglam in this black Emilio Pucci mini with lace details. And also, I mean, LEGS FOR DAYS, right! Karla Otto worked wonders in finding this perfect look for her. (Grammys)

Giannetos Dimitris too did a fabulous job with Maria’s hair — in love with this chic braid!

And you can’t forget even the tiniest of details, such as how terrific this nail art is, kudos to Nail Job Love.

Heather McComb

Huge fan of Mac Duggal and thus now, huge fan of Heather — definitely workin’ this super fresh & fly LBD, with little twists & exciting details, such as sheer lace effects & embellishments. This is the perfect look for Heather while attending a pre-Grammy party, hosted by Primary Wave, also partnered with Brand Synergy Group & Cross. Coordinating perfectly with her look, another fave brand of mine, ashlyn’d clutches, and this charming little black clutch!

Styling was on point here, so kudos to Chic Little Devil Style House.

Dana Ward

Dana Ward_Mac Duggal(2)

Dana is the executive producer & host for ClevverTV, so of course she had to look super amazing & sexy while conducting some live Grammy coverage. And that she did in this gorgeous black & nude Mac Duggal mini.

Ariana Grande

I wasn’t in love wit Ariana’s red carpet look, too much dangling fabric. But I am head over heels for this Versace dress with a haltered neckline and cutouts. It was the right look for her moving performance!

Laura Bailey

Laura looked out of this world in this textured white Emilia Wickstead gown. It was demure and very ladylike; I’m a fan! (BAFTA)

What a look! Felicity looks mesmerizing in this floral embellished 2-tone Dior gown. It’s magically enchanting and I’m entranced! She has paired with her look some understated diamond jewelry pieces —  Van Cleef and Arpel vintage earrings. (BAFTA)

2015 Grammy Awards — Best Dressed

The trends of award season continue on with the Grammys, black/sheer combos, white with hints of silver, and jumpsuits. But the big trend to me of the evening, super sexiness from the ladies! These luscious ladies on the Grammys red carpet were vivaciously all about the Va-va-voom — cutouts, sheer effects, plunging necklines, and high slits! So of course my best dressed list includes some sexy numbers, but I managed to sneak in a few traditional picks as well. Enjoy!

1423445705_iggy-azalea-560_640 Iggy Azalea

Iggy looked magnificent in my fave red carpet color, cobalt blue. The details of this custom-made Giorgio Armani silk crepe dress were extremely eye-catching, sheer paneling at the bottom, as well as side and shoulder cutouts.

Jessie J

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

Jessie J looked so gorgeous in this sheer Ralph & Russo black dress. It was full-on glam and I love it!

Giuliana Rancic

Giuliana Rancic

Jumpsuits are all over the 2015 Award Season. There is just something so striking about this black Inbal Dror jumpsuit with a sheer cutout bodice. It shimmers & sparkles all over!

Shout-outs to her glam squad — stylist, Monica Rose style; chic hair styling by Melissa Brown; beautiful make-up look (shimmering smoky eye, bold red lip), Catalina Linasu.

Jennifer Hudson

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

Jennifer went the simplistically minimal route in this understated LWD by Tom Ford. Her entire accessories, head to toe, were spot-on — metallic Jimmy Choo clutch, Dsquared2 mixed metallic stilettos, diamond Marli choker, Jorge Adeler ring, as well as jewelry pieces from Casa Real and Jack Vartanian.

Love this purple pout — then you should check out MAC Cosmetics, their lip shade, Heroine.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy did cutouts right, and all over, up & down as well! This white Emilio Pucci dress with loosely stitched cutouts was super sexy, amazing!

She paired with her look some exquisite accessories — Norman Silverman Diamonds earrings, bracelets, and rings, as well as black Jimmy Choo sandals.

Celeb makeup artist Mary Phillips used Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Illuminating Argan Oil as a primer. “It quickly absorbed while leaving a glamorous effect on the skin,” she told Us. Phillips then layered on Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #7. “It has a super dewy, natural appearance,” she said.

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

Jhene Aiko

I love, love, love this nude Alberta Ferretti dress. It is definitely one of my faves of the evening. It is so ethereal and I am even more in love with this stunning bodice. She has coordinated well with her look some lovely diamond Lorraine Schwartz earrings and Ofira rings.

Tracey Edmonds

Tracey looked ravishing in this sheer black gown with a lace bodice. Not sure of the designer here, but it’s quite beautiful!

Katharine McPhee

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

Katharine McPhee was workin’ it in this coral Emilio Pucci column dress. I mean if you got it, flaunt it! She also rocked some diamond danglers from Vhernier.

For her Grammys red carpet debut, Avon Global Celeb Makeup Artist Lauren Andersen played up the Scorpion star’s warm-toned complexion (and pastel Emilio Pucci gown) with the peachy golden tones from the Avon Eye Dimensions Eye Shadow in Khaki Chic. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eey Pencil in Scortch and Avon SuperExtend Winged Out Mascara in Blackest Black added even more dimension.

Lena Hall

Lena looked out of this world, so glamorous in this dark grey fitted Zac Posen gown. She looked great and is making a major footprint on the red carpet scene. Paired with her look, diamond David Yurman jewelry.

Caitlin Rogers

GRAMMY Awards 2015

This gown on Caitlin, artistic, mesmerizing, so intriguing!

Brandy Clark Brandy Clark

Full on glitz & glam, the disco ball look has been a major red carpet trend of the 2015 Award Season, and Brandy is rockin’ right with the best of the best. She looks gorgeous!

Paris Hilton   The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

Paris has never looked better. She has dubbed herself the #sparklingdiamondbarbie in this shimmery Yousef-Al-Jasmi dress. And really, you can’t deny it!

Paris really does look great tonight, especially her smashing makeup & hair look, luscious waves, bold smoky eye, and slightly pink lip, all by Etienne Ortega.

Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick

Anna went pretty basic, but it’s still a sexy basic, in a classic black Band of Outsiders tuxedo suit. In keeping with an understated theme, she is rockin’ some great accessories, Selin Kent ring, Venyx World ring, black Jimmy Choo “Darilyn” heels, and Uma K rings too.

To give Kendrick “that sexy Parisian women’s hair,” stylist Craig Gangi curled her hair in 1-1/2-inch sections, then combed through them with his fingers. For even more volume and dry texture, he spritzed Unite Texturiza before finishing with Unite Session Max Spray.

Celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali made Anna’s eyes stand-out by using BECCA’s Automatic Eve Pencil in Majorca ($23) and Ultimate Crème Eyeliner in Romanticism ($20) to the top lashes and inside the waterline. She also paired with her look, Jacquie Aiche earrings.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen went architectural with this semi-sheer-bodice black jumpsuit by Atelier Versace. At first glance I wasn’t so sure, but it really is a look I couldn’t take my eyes off of. And pairing perfectly with this all black ensemble, black bedazzled Louboutin pumps.

And hey, what about these mesmerizing Lorraine Schwartz jewelry pieces — diamonds are a girl’s best friend!

Jane Fonda  Jane Fonda

I’m not sure I would give anyone else a Best Dressed nod with this emerald green Balmain jumpsuit with a wide belt and fully fringed necklace. But come on, Jane Fonda! You can’t deny how great she looks and she is rockin’ this look!

She is accessorizing with metallic Jimmy Choo heels, gold Paula Cadematori clutch, and diamond Vhernier jewelry.

Antonique Smith

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

I have a lot of super sexy and serious looks on my list, so I’m happy to include one that is a little more fun, one that I can’t help but smile at. Antonique looks super girly and flirt in this floral 2-piece Cache number! Her make-up look is matched perfectly, bold red lip, courtesy of Sean Harris.

PRAS, The Red Carpet Challenge — Sizzle or Fizzle?!?

Let’s call this an in be-twizzle. But really, let’s be real. No red carpet look here was exactly ready for prime time. It was perfect timing for this episode as we are right in the midst of award season, with the Grammy’s this weekend, and the Oscars right around the corner. But everyone here needed way more time and likely a bit larger of a budget. Nobody really would commission a dress for a major red carpet and leave only a day to put it together. This is especially considering the many other details this challenge entailed.

pras4-ep12-episode14So the specific details were given by Alyssa and Kelly Garner (via a taped announcement), who is portraying Marilyn Monroe in an up and coming Lifetime miniseries. The Marilyn part of the challenge was that the designers were to be inspired by her timeless beauty and create timeless red carpet gowns. The look had to sparkle and shine, as well as being suitable for the Oscars. It needed to be an iconic, timeless look that was memorable. So again, this was a lot to get out of any designer in only a day! And then going back to Lifetime, there was a huge prize at stake.

Screen Shot 2015-02-06 at 11.52.56 PM

The winning designer of the week would get the chance to design the wardrobe for a future Lifetime project. With that, the designers were off to Mood, with their largest budget of the season, $500. Still not likely enough for this challenge, but nonetheless, it was all they had. Michelle decided to spend nearly her entire budget on 1 really expensive fabric. On the other hand, Sonjia bought lots of options. Dmitry went with fringe (seemingly a PR fave as of late), and Helen decided on Chantilly lace.

The designers quickly got back to the workroom to begin work on their gowns. Dmitry had quite a bit to do, working with fringe and all. His fringe didn’t quite match his fabric so he had to tea-dye the fringe. Sonjia still wasn’t sure on the direction of her look — no surprise there! All while Michelle decided to designate herself the sparkle police. Isaac came by for a surprise visit. This was the first of a few surprises during this episode, which literally made it feel like one of the longest episodes in PR history!! If it wasn’t already preposterous enough to have the designers make such a major red carpet look in 1 day, they also had to take on a mini-challenge, seriously?!? Why was that needed?

Oh, I know. I guess it was to give Michelle some bragging rights, giving her a chance to win something during this season. It would have been quite sad being that she was a former PR winner and all to have not won 1 challenge during her time on PRAS. This whole design couture for a dog challenge was a waste of time at this point. I get dogwear and doggy couture exists, but it wasn’t needed right now. But it seemed besides allowing Michelle to have 1 win, PRAS also needed to make the episode last for an hour and a half versus the standard hour.

I love dogs, cute segment, but still didn’t get it. Isaac, along with Michael Francis and Lassie, set up the mini-challenge. Each designer had to work with a rescue dog, making a piece of canine couture. The doggy wear had to be inspired by a particular movie genre. So Dmitry worked with Dolla for Gangster, making a gangsta suit; Helen with Scrappy for Sci-Fi, making a rocket ship; and Sonjia with Cha-Cha for musical comedy, making a sparkly get-up with some feathers for flare. And with Michelle for the win, she had Taz, designing for western, making a bandana look.

Screen Shot 2015-02-07 at 12.00.20 AM

I’m sure everyone appreciated some fun, but with time wasted away, they were all quickly back to work, literally with Helen banging away. It was then Zanna-time. Michelle wanted to put chains across her open-back, but Zanna thought this cheapened the gown; I agree. Zanna & Dmitry discussed crystal placement. She asked Sonjia about if her look would stand the test of time. And finally, with Helen, Zanna worried the look read too old-fashioned. But Zanna was clear in saying to everyone, she wasn’t seeing anything timeless quite yet.

With time running low, Helen scrapped her entire bodice. And more trouble, right at the end of the day, Sonjia’s zipper broke. The morning of the runway left no time for dawdling. Everyone still had plenty to do. But it was soon time for the runway. Guest judge this week was CEO & Founder of Nasty Gal and author, Sophia Amoruso.

After critiques, each designer felt good. They all pretty much received both positive and negative comments. All really except Dmitry who was the clear winner this week. There has been a lot of predictability over this season and sub-par designs from the other designers. But predictability aside, Dmitry not only was well deserving of this win, but his spot as a finalist. He has consistently done a great job every week, and was never in the bottom. So if the PRAS season comes to an end with a headline reading “Dmitry is two for two”, I would be 100% fine with this.

Dmitry had a great start here. Honestly, I could see this on the red carpet now. Not so sure about the Oscars, but I can only imagine how great this fringed look would have been with more time and money.

This look definitely had stand-out appeal. Fringe and the hints of sheer are certainly eye-catching details. The fit was perfection. And it wasn’t a safe look. Very happy to see what Lifetime Project Dmitry will get the chance to work on. I’m sure he will go a great job.

Sonjia came in 2nd, another designer who has consistently done well all season. She has stuck true to her own voice and I’m eager to see if she could gain her redemption win. This bold look was far from perfect, but it was the most risk-taking look of the four. It was also the most fresh, and not something I’ve seen before.

The judges clearly rewarded risk and the thought, and I think that was a good decision. Helen & Michelle’s look were not innovative or fresh at all. So it made sense for them to make up the bottom 2 and for Sonjia to attain her spot in the finale.

I do agree with Georgina here. There was a bit too much going on, but the ideas were there and I appreciated the direction. And I believe this dress would for sure stand-out, but I’m not sure how timeless it was. But I think Sonjia took on a different definition to timeless. This look would no doubt be memorable.

I think this was Michelle’s best work of the season, but why did it take so long? And, was that alone enough to make her the 3rd finalist? I’m not a fan of this 1 hour challenge mess we had to watch happen, but really Michelle and Helen didn’t do themselves any favors here. Michelle was way too safe with her look.

The chain was a pointless detail. The sleeves gave this gown such a heavy feel to it. And really it was the fabric that did all the work here. There wasn’t much design here. It was a shimmery gown, open back, fitted. I really didn’t see much of Michelle in this look at all.

Mary Kay make-up shout-out, such a bold, luscious look, love this daring smoky eye/bronzed cheek/nude lip combo!

Helen lucked out here. Clearly Helen had the better look in the 1-hour duel, but Michelle’s gown was a lot better than Helen’s gown. It had no Wow factor, way too safe. I guess the judges either were more on the Helen-train or they really didn’t want to send someone to the finale for selecting a prettier fabric.

Helen’s fabric wasn’t all bad. I could easily see it on the red carpet. But she ran out of time on this one. I’m not sure if she is quite ready to take on Dmitry & Sonjia in the final 2, but she has gained her spot so ready she must be!

Because as we know, Michelle and Helen were left to battle out for the 3rd and final spot in the finale by taking on a 1-hour live challenge. Oh but wait, even before that, they brought them back out to state why they deserved that spot. Really! As if that was going to help at all in making the decision. Again, longest PR episode ever!!

So in this last live challenge, Michelle & Helen had to re-invent from failed, eliminated looks, a totally new look. They had to choose 3 looks from the previously eliminated designers, and in 1 hour, they had to create a new look.

Helen was upset right at the get go. She hated tearing apart someone’s look, even if it wasn’t great to begin with at all! Thankfully she got over it because that was the challenge at hand. Enough with the tears already. She was lucky to be getting this chance so pointless to waste any time over needless tears.

With the Michelle/Helen red carpet looks, it wasn’t a slam-dunk that Michelle was the clear victor. But this time around, it was laughable there was any debate over who made the better look. Helen worked great under pressure and created an understated look, but it was quite lovely for an hour’s worth of work. It was wearable and I could see it donned by fashionistas all over.

I’m not sure what Michelle was thinking though. Even if she had used 3 looks, which apparently she didn’t and that broke the challenge rules, but really, regardless, this look was not good. It was hardly wearable. And really, the only part she did true design work on was the worst part. I know she only had an hour, but everything read sloppy and just thrown together. I’m not even sure I understand what she did to Jay’s tank top, but I’m not giving anyone credit for literally shortening a skirt. The challenge was to re-design, and other than this pant-cho, I’m not sure what her design work here was. It seemed as if she just re-arranged some pieces, a little re-styling. This was nowhere near enough to garner Michelle that third finalist spot.

“THE” Red Carpet Trends of the 2015 Award Season

The 2015 Award Season is in full swing, with the Golden Globes, Peoples Choice Awards, SAGs, Critics Choice, and more having already come and gone. There are still a few more award shows coming up though, a few on the country music scene, and of course heavy-hitters with the Oscars and Grammys. I have highlighted 9 red carpet trends during the 2015 award season, and I’m sure these trends will continue to be seen with the award shows still remaining.

What I’ve also done is found a way you can bring these red carpet trends to your own world. Fashion Nexus has had such fun collaborating with Mac Duggal, home of stunning designer dresses & gowns for red carpets, prom, homecoming and more. So if you want to dress like the stars for Prom 2015, or take on a major red carpet trend for a formal event of your own, trust Mac Duggal has plenty to offer!

Black and white individually are always seen on any red carpet. But this award season, the 2 hit colors have been paired quite frequently, especially dominating at the 2015 Peoples Choice Awards. Kat McPhee, Olivia Munn, Kaley Cuoco, Shaun Robinson, Sarah Paulson, and more all rocked this trend. And it was great seeing this color combo across a vast array of gowns.

#3 — RED — HOT, HOT, HOT!

Generally, I’m not a fan of naming a standalone color as a red carpet trend. Why? Because of course you are going to see almost any given color on the red carpet, and likely across several shows, that color will pop up more than once. But clearly, red looks have been all over the place, and way more than just a handful of times. Red especially dominated at the 2015 Golden Globes.

I love jumpsuits, so great seeing them on the various red carpets. Not sure if we will see any for the Oscars, but I imagine another few will pop up here and there as award season continues.

You are going to see white dresses on red carpets — it’s a given. But one trend I’ve noticed specifically with white looks this award season, are dresses with plunging necklines — va va voom!

Think disco ball, or like with DWTS, the mirror ball trophy. These all over sparkling silver dresses have been all the rage. It’s not just the silver color, it’s about all of the glitz and glam, the sparkly beaded embellishments.

And finally, again with white, but this time, another little detail I’ve noticed, hints of silver embellishments, whether on the shoulder, the neckline, wherever it works best to add that needed sparkle.

Dramatizon Make-up Presents — Ice Kings & Queens

10920935_10152660696833546_2388380923929450778_nIt was my distinct pleasure and honor to attend, for the 2nd year in a row, a wintry fashion show like no other — Ice Kings & Queens! Tawni Michelle of Dramatizon Make-up, Tawni’s own business, was the creative mind and talent who conceived and developed this magical winter wonderland. The entire show, from start to finish, was stunningly mind-blowing. It was a great night indeed! Before I get to the specifics, here are some other important show credits that helped to make the entire event possible —

Whether male or female, Tawni did a spectacular job, creating some eye-catching artistry thru make-up design. Every detail was thought out. The winter colors of deep blue, dark purple, crisp white, and more were 100% on point. I’m thoroughly impressed by how imaginative Tawni is. She definitely did not disappoint and I’m already counting down to whatever her next presentation might be!

And of course, the striking and boldly designed hair for this show, above and beyond, and completely mesmerizing. The intricacies, the details, the work that Fallon has put in here was top-notch.

I’m not sure there are enough words to explain how great Fallon’s hair design was this year. Each look was so unique and so captivating from every angle. The Tawni & Fallon team for these shows are no doubt the very definition of a dynamic duo.

Fallon too has her own hair design business, but she also works as a hair stylist with Vidov Salon. So if you are ever in need of your own chic, stylish up-do, I’m sure she would love to assist!

Another exciting moment of the evening was being able to see the insanely talented and gorgeous GinaMarie Zimmerman. It’s been great getting to know more about GM since meeting her last year at the show. She is such a kind spirit and she has been doing some great things since her 2nd place win and stint on CBS’s hit summer reality show, Big Brother. She has been modeling, acting, working on her music, and so much more.

A recent film she took part in, Piranha Sharks, and you can also check out her hot dance-track Open Book.

10898082_10152692753208546_8223807944053554666_nAlso, remember each model for the showing is donning some exquisitely unique and custom lingerie pieces, courtesy of Gigi Carnett! GinaMarie is definitely workin’ these pieces!

I am also very happy to have met another new friend from this event, another multi-talented model Ricky Jarman. He not only can work the runway and photo-shoots, but he also acts and is too working on his music career. I recently checked him out at his live show at the historic Bitter End here in NYC, and wow, I’m impressed! At the end of March he will be releasing an album, The Pursuit, co-produced by DJ Kodzu.

I urge you all to check him out online and across social media — Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and more. Also, check out some of his hot music videos, two of my faves “Do It” and “Make It Happen.”

FB_IMG_1422585782664If I haven’t said it enough, this Tawni/Dramatizon original presentation was phenomenal. It was fun for one evening to be whisked away into a winter wonderland fantasy. Here are some more photos of the event and photo credits for the photos throughout my post.
